“Theory·Gongye Cheng” records a sentence like Zigong: “The Master’s articles can be heard by you; the Master’s words about nature and the way of heaven cannot be heard by you.” The explanation of this chapter has been more than two thousand years from the Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, and there is no way to speak in the details, especially the latter sentence, “The Master’s words about nature and the way of heaven cannot be heard by you”, which is even more of a focus of the debate. In this regard, some students have done a systematic review. [①] Based on the commentary of the predecessors, the ancients made many interpretations of this, and there are three representatives: First, Teacher Yang Bojun, Teacher, believed that this sentence should be interpreted as “We cannot hear the teacher’s statement about nature and the way of heaven”; [②] Second, it is said that this sentence should be understood as Confucius’s “nature and Bao HuimeiThe Way of Heaven” is his personal inventiveness and experience, which students cannot hear from others; [③] Third, it means “knowledge” and “leadership”. This sentence means “nature and way of heaven” discussed by Confucius. Students cannot get the true transmission and learn it. [④] These explanations focus on the wording and sentence meaning, and lack consideration of specific historical situations. If you carefully sort out the relevant documents and have a “clear sympathy” for Ziying, [⑤] study the relationship between Confucius and Ziying’s students, and then the explanations drawn are not very similar to this.
1. The Master once said “nature”
“The Master said that nature and the way of heaven are unrealized and heard.” In this sentence, the word “speak” is mostly considered an verb, but there are also those who use the word “speak”, such as the Emperor of NanliangSweetheart GardenKan, Li Ao of the Tang Dynasty. In the “博博博博博博博‘s Commentary on the Proverbs of the Idioms” by Huang Kan: “The Master’s words are what the article says. Nature is what Confucius calls life. The way of heaven calls the new way of Yuanheng day by day. It is said that Confucius’ six books are seen by people, but the purpose of the six books is not obtained and heard. Therefore, the Master’s nature and the way of Liuhe Yuanheng are in line with their virtues. However, there are examples in ancient books that oppose this view. As recorded in “Historical Records·The Family of Confucius” says: “Zi Cheng said: ‘The Master’s articles can be heard. The Master’s words about the way of heaven and life can be heard’”; “The Master’s Ancient Notes from the Master’s Ancient Notes: “The Master’s words about nature and the way of heaven cannot be heard’, saying that Confucius did not speak The affairs of life and the way of heaven”; “Later Han Book: Huan Zhisheng”: “Ordinary human feelings are suddenly paid attention to strange things, and they observe the notes of the previous kings. Since the son is in charge, he cannot hear from others, so that the purity of later generations can understand it.” In these three sentences, “speak” is easy to see, so if it is not fully proved, “speak” is more appropriate.
So, does the Master have no “talent and the way of heaven”? Review “Theory” and you can find a story about the Master talking about “sex”.”The Master said: Nature is near, and it is far away.” (“Synonyms·Yangxiang”) Some scholars believe that the destiny of heaven is the way of heaven. [⑦] There are also words in the saying “the way of heaven”. Two examples are:
The Master said: “I am determined to learn at 150, established at 30, not confused at 40, know the destiny of heaven at 50, know the destiny of heaven at 60, and do whatever I want at 70, and do not stumble at 70.” (“Synonyms·Yu Zheng”)
Confucius said: “The correct people have three fears: fear of heaven, fear of the great people, and fear of the words of saints. A gentleman does not know the destiny of heaven but does not fearbaoqingapp is to be obsessed with the great people and insult the saints. “(“Journal of Ji”)
This shows that Confucius had something to say about “nature and the way of heaven”. He recorded in “The Book of Songs”: “Zi is not: strange, powerful, chaotic, and god.” (The Book of Songs·Shuer) “Zi Han talks about profit and destiny and benevolence.” (The Book of Songs·Zi Han) It can be said that Confucius has not spoken about “nature and the way of heaven”.
